Here are some notes taken from the NCCP website. <\/p>\n
There are many ways to accumulate points. Events that are organized by the CAC, your NSO or P\/TSO, or P\/TCR will advertise the number of PD points associated with the event.<\/em><\/p>\nIn general:<\/em>
\n\u2022 NCCP training or evaluation events are worth 5 points;<\/em>
\n\u2022 Non-NCCP events are worth 1 point for each hour they last, up to a maximum of 3 points;<\/em>
\n\u2022 \u201cActive coaching\u201d will give you 1 point per year;<\/em>
\n\u2022 Through \u201cSelf-directed learning\u201d you can earn a maximum of 3 points per five-year PD cycle.<\/em><\/p>\n*** NEW **** Workshops Planned for this Fall 2022<\/p>\n

- The format will combine small group problem solving and exploration and brief presentations; PDF handouts will be available to all participants as a take away<\/span><\/li>\n
- Ice practice video examples will be used to illustrate real-life practices with youth teams<\/li>\n
- Agenda: Best Practices for Ice Practices; Typical Challenges faced by Coaches; Role of Assistant Coaches; Designing Ice Drills; Delivering the Drill in 60 seconds using a standardized instructional template; Why, When and How to Make Drill Corrections. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

\n- Ringette tactics: free pass plays; attack patterns; checking systems and approaches.<\/li>\n
- How to coach the Female athlete;<\/li>\n
- How to manage the parents of young players; <\/li>\n
- How to use under 18 year old ringette players who want to help as assistant coaches; <\/li>\n
- Bench and game management (pre and post game coaching, when to call a timeout, how to give feedback during a game, how to “talk nicely” to the referees, how to organize the lines for forwards, defence and goal tenders);<\/li>\n
