{"id":292,"date":"2011-12-17T21:03:36","date_gmt":"2011-12-17T21:03:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/myringetteteam.com\/charity_cup\/?page_id=292"},"modified":"2018-08-29T20:16:26","modified_gmt":"2018-08-29T20:16:26","slug":"coming-events-ringette-and-more","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/myringetteteam.com\/charity_cup\/core-services\/sports-and-fitness-division\/coming-events-ringette-and-more\/","title":{"rendered":"Ringette Dryland Training Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Updated on August 15, 2018<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Nepean Ringette\u2019s Pilot Fitness Program offers dryland training for U12 and U14 aged teams for the upcoming 2018-2019 ringette season.<\/p>\n<p>For other Ringette Associations &#8211; contact us and we will set up a convenient location and discuss how to support your ringette team&#8217;s seasonal plans.<\/p>\n<p>Instructor: Cheryl Youldon, former Physical Education Teacher, Fitness Leader and Team Fitness Instructor.<\/p>\n<p>Tentative Location: Confederation Education Centre beside the Nepean Sportsplex on Woodroffe Ave.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1534797268908_5596\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1534797268908_5682\">The sessions are now on Wednesdays from 6 to 10pm at same location.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1534797268908_5596\">Dates: September 26 until February 27.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1534797268908_5596\">No classes from Dec 24 until Jan 4 and Jan 16 and Jan 23.<\/p>\n<p>Dates: Tuesday September 25 to Tuesday February 26, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>First session is free.<\/p>\n<p>Cost: $30 per session, per team<\/p>\n<p>What to bring: running shoes, exercise clothing and a labeled water bottle.<\/p>\n<p>Equipment provided: skipping ropes, hand weights, agility ladder and juggling balls, just to name some.<\/p>\n<p>Program details: fitness sessions will follow the long athlete development model for dryland training with respect to different ages and below is a list of possible activities depending on the gym space:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exercise circuits that would combine strength and endurance exercises, flexibility and cardiovascular movements.<\/li>\n<li>Weight training sessions that would include proper movement technique and workout routines.<\/li>\n<li>Interval running training that would include brief periods of hard work followed by brief periods of recovery.<\/li>\n<li>Handball activities to help work on game play and team tactics.<\/li>\n<li>Pregame warmup routines to music.<\/li>\n<li>Special activities to celebrate team successes and holidays.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information, please contact Cheryl Youldon at: cherylanneyouldon@rogers.com.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Updated on August 15, 2018 Nepean Ringette\u2019s Pilot Fitness Program offers dryland training for U12 and U14 aged teams for the upcoming 2018-2019 ringette season.
