Mississauga to host 2017 World Ringette Championships

Ottawa, Ontario – September 8, 2016 – Ringette Canada today announced that Mississauga has been selected as the host for the 2017 World Ringette Championships. The event, which will be held from November 27 to December 3, 2017 at Hershey Centre (5500 Rose Cherry Place), will see the world’s top ringette athletes compete for junior and senior gold.

Participating teams are still being finalized, but at this time seven national teams are confirmed – senior national teams from Canada and Finland will compete for the senior title in the Sam Jacks Series, while junior national teams from Canada and Finland will compete for the junior title. Senior national teams from Czech Republic, Sweden and the United States will compete in the President’s Pool. Following the last event in Helsinki, Finland, Canada holds the junior world title and Finland holds the senior world title.
